Extremely saddened that we have lost such a good man and friend. We came on the job together and I was fortunate to work with this very courageous and loyal man. My sincere condolences to the Pettus family.

In my opinion the word GENTLEMAN is the highest compliment you can give to a Cop. Artie was a true GENTLEMAN. He was a great Cop and a Greater person. My heartfelt condolences to Artie’s family and friends.

I will remember Artie first and foremost for the kind and generous person he was. Of course he was a first rate cop, who I had the honor and good fortune to work with. May he rest in peace knowing the impact he had on many is tremendous.

Darryl was and still is a great man. Any conversation we had was a positive and calm mannered one. He exude the type or person he is and Heaven have definitely received another Angel.
You will be missed, but will be in our hearts forever. I will miss the funny holiday messages.
I love you and may the family hearts be blessed as they way heavy at this time.

My sincere condolences to the Pettus family. Artie was a great Cop, Husband, Father, but most of all a Great Friend. Artie always had a smile on his face, and always found time to laugh and enjoy life…..He will be missed……

Artie was a great cop and even better man, I always remember how he mentored all the other cops in District 11’s Anti Crime Unit. He was the only cop to get “tens” on evaluations- he was that good.

God bless ‘Artie’ and his family🙏

I remember Artie for being a great cop and always with a smile on his face. He was a tenant in my first home for about 2 years. It was a pleasure having him there. A lot of new rookies on the job got their first gun collars working with Artie. He took me under his wing when I was assigned to TPF in Dist-11 as he did others. Artie will be missed dearly. It’s not goodbye is so long until we meet again. Lilly and I commend you for being the woman you were in his life. I am sorry for your loss and may the good Lord give you comfort during this time. RIP my brother.

      Hey John,
Just found out and it brought back so many memories at Olmstead Ave and our great little block. Told the boys, they’re truly heartbroken especially Glenn. Daryl was his buddy. Hope you’re well. And sorry I know how close you and Daryl was. Sending love your way

Just found out about the passing of Daryl. He was my neighbor and so very dear to me. My heart is broken to learn of his passing. We shared a special friendship that I will forever treasure. Love you Daryl, you will be forever missed. My condolences to his kids. Artie and my son Glenn would play on the block on Olmstead Ave. RIP DARYL.
