Vashti had an early Christian upbringing and loved the Lord.  She grew up in the Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach, where as an adult she served in various positions.  She loved singing in the church choir, as well as with her daughter, sisters, brother and niece in the group they formed, known as the Travelettes.  Vashti loved attending vacation bible school and assisting with the youth.  She was a Stewardess, a member of the Beautifying Women’s Club (BWC’s) and several other boards.

Vashti moved to Oviedo, Florida in 2012 to live with her daughter , Jean.  She immediately became a member of Harbor House Abundant Life Ministry, serving on the Mother’s Board, Pastor Aide, Planning Committee, Hospitality Committee, and anything else she was called t do.  She was an inspiration to the young and old.  When she stood up to pray or testify, she was sure to make it known that “I love everybody” before asking to pray her strength.
