REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF:
MOTHER FLORETTA SMITH-COBB WALKER

Mother Floretta Walker was born as the oldest twin just minutes apart, on August 19, 1945, to the late (mother) Johnnie M. Smith and late (father) Mose Cobb, in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended John E. Ford Elementary School and James W. Johnson Jr. High School of Jacksonville. FL.

Her late husband Deacon Willie James Walker was the love of her life. They were married on September 28, 1967, in Orlando, Florida.

The twins’ late little brother James H. Smith would always talk about his twin sister, whom he loved dearly, although he had a special way of making them mad, sad and happy, within two minutes. She resided with her late auntie Pauline Archer in Winter Park, before living in Polk County with her twin sister and family.

Floretta is predeceased by her husband Willie James, her parents, and brother, James H. Smith.

God in his infinite wisdom quietly and gently whispered to Mother Floretta on Thursday, January 27, 2022 that it was time for her to take her well-deserved rest.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: Her twin sister Loretta and (brother-n-law) Bobby Murray; Sisters-n-laws: Linda, Hazel and Carol Walker; Goddaughter: Deddie A. Lee, last living (2) aunts: Shirley and Udel Cobb (on her father’s side) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and many caregivers.
