John Michael Woodard, AKA Mike, was born to the late Lt. Col. John Henry Woodard and Mrs. Clara V. Woodard in Bayonne, NJ. Because of his father’s Army career, Michael had the opportunity to live inside and outside of the United States. He graduated from Winter Park High School in 1976. Then he graduated from the Florida State University with a B. S. degree in Industrial Education.
The eldest of two sons, Michael enjoyed being the older brother. He and his brother enjoyed many fun times together from childhood and even in college at the Florida State University. After college, he went to work right away for companies such as 84 Lumber and Honeywell. Later on in life he worked with his father building homes in the greater Orlando Metro area.

Mike enjoyed being with his friends and family more than anything in life. He was a devoted son taking care of his father until his father’s passing in 2010. Mike and his brother cared for their mother until just a few weeks ago when he became ill. He loved traveling to his daughter’s life events. At her wedding, he was indeed the life of the party and is remembered fondly by many of her friends. He was especially proud when she graduated from his Alma Mater and in a similar field of study as he had completed. In February of 2017, Michael officially became “Papi” with the birth of his grandson Solomon. That weekend was a fun filled trip with the new grandparents getting lost and found in the Boston, MA.

He loved sports and enjoyed attending games with family and friends. His favorite professional team was the Dallas Cowboys. But as far as universities go, to Michael, there is no better university than The Florida State University.

Michael is preceded in death by his father Lt. Col. John Henry Woodard. Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories the following: his mother, Mrs. Clara V. Woodard of Winter Park, FL; his daughter, Yoshino W. White (Cameron R. White) of Windham, NH; grandson, Solomon R. White of Windham, NH; and brother, Stephen J. Woodard of Winter Park, FL, Dr. Sharon L. Burton of Wilmington, DE, and a host of cherished cousins and friends.

Please accept My Sincere Condolences for the Loss of Your Loved One Michael.
Losing Someone You Love is like losing a part of yourself. You miss them and you miss who you were with them and nothing will ever replace that!
But hopefully every time you share a memory, recall a moment of laughter or do something that reminds you of times you spent together, you’ll feel that part of yourself again.
Praying that in time you will find comfort in remembering……

    Sympathetically Your,
    Angela Washington
