Janet Yvonne Kennedy
AKA “Auntie Tootsie”
Ms. Janet Yvonne Kennedy, affectionately known as “Auntie Tootsie, was born May 18, 1962 in Live Oak, Florida. She was the second child born to Phillip Kennedy Sr. and Annie Lee Albertie. The family relocated to Miami, Florida where Janet attended Norland High School. In later years she made her home in Orlando, Florida.
Janet was a reflection of God’s Grace, had an infectious smile and had a genuine love of people especially her family. She loved to laugh and to have others laugh with her. She had a gift to create laughter even in the midst of what seemed to be a serious time.
During her life’s journey she celebrated many successes in her life. Regardless of what the challenge was she remained positive, focused and a strong believer in God. She turned those challenges into victories and always found ways to look beyond her circumstances to help others.
Her long time desire and vision was to own her very own food truck. God blessed and allowed her to see her vision become a reality. She was an entrepreneur and successful owner of a popular food truck business! Her food truck, “Auntie Tootsie Conch House served the Central Florida area.
Janet was preceded in death by her father Phillip Kennedy Sr. and Sister Cynthia Kennedy.
All of the earthly things are behind her now, and she is resting in the presence of the Lord. On Thursday, July 15, 2021, she heard God’s call summoning her to His heavenly home.
She leaves to cherish and continue her legacy:
