Obituary
Craig Allen Gainey was born September 9, 1961, in Sodus New York, to Andrew Gainey Sr. and Adeline Baldwin Gainey. Craig was the 7th child born from this union.
Craig was longtime resident of Oviedo Florida. His formal education was received at Jackson Heights and Lawton Elementary. He was a graduate of Oviedo High, class of 1979. Craig always wanted to travel and see other states. He moved to Rochester New York where he resided for several years. He also lived in Denton Texas and worked for BP Oil. Because of health issues he relocated back to Florida to be with his family.
Craig accepted Christ at an early age and attended Grant Chapel African Episcopal Church as a child and during his teen age years.
Craig loved to listen to gospel music and talk about the goodness of the Lord. He rededicated his life to serving the Lord and was baptized and united with the Body of Christ. He worshipped and fellowshipped with The Fountain Worship Center, under the leadership of Pastor Victor Blair and Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Charles Jones.
Craig excelled in school, was fun to be with, had a zest for life and was very stylish in the way he dressed. He loved life, his family and friends. Craig was known by a myriad of names: PJ. Pampy Joe, Lil Bro, Cadillac Craig and Pablo.
“So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and his mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.” Craig transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Oviedo Medical Center, in Oviedo Florida. He was surrounded by his loving family and a host of friends.
