A Time to Be Born…
Joyce Ann Hayes Pinkney, often called “Shorty” by family and friends was born on August 31, 1950 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Mr. Archie Greer and Mrs. Mildred Greer. She was the second of seven children (five girls and two boys).
A Time to Learn…
Joyce received her early education in Beashea Elementary School located in Philadelphia, MS. She attended Hungerford in Eatonville, Florida were she received her middle school and high school educations. She went on to attend college at Everest University in Orlando, FL.
A Time to Love…
Joyce met and married R.B. Haynes and in later years married Lorenzo Pinkney.
A Time to Live…
After moving to Winter Park, FL, Joyce worked as a CNA at Choctaw Residential Nursing Home. She enjoyed going to church and had a very special love for the Lord.
A Time to Worship…
She attended New Warner Chapel Primitive Baptist Church located in Winter Park, Florida under the current leadership of Elder E.D. Moody.
On September 11, 2018, Joyce Ann Hayes Pinkney, “Shorty” peacefully transitioned from this life at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her husband Lorenzo Pinkney, brother Tommy Greer, and son Stanley Haynes. She leaves precious memories that will be treasured with:
Daughters: Rose Greer (Jock Riggins) (Orlando, FL) and LaDonna Haynes (Charles Anderson) (Orlando, FL); Brothers: Archie Greer Jr. (Philadelphia, MS); Sisters: Janie (Al) Sharpton (Orlando, FL), Maudia (Willie) Morrow (Orlando, FL), Linda McBeath (Orlando, FL), Catherine Greer (Orlando, FL), Precious Hayes (Dallas, TX) and Minnie Hudson (Philadelphia, MS); Sons-In-Law: Kenneth Cassanova, Sr.; Grandchildren: Ricardo Haynes Cassanova, Kenuth A. Cassanova, Jr., Kenneth Casanova, Kecian Cassanova; Great Grandchildren: Malia Hines, KeAjah Cassanova, Jaylea Sweptson, Reciah Haynes, Harlie Cameron, Kahmya Ismael, Lamayah Buckley, and Zechariah Haynes. Special Granchildren: Love, Diamond, Lola, Lila and Amber.
