Obituary:

A Time to be Born…Alvin Bell Spencer was born with his twin brother on April 29, 1956 in the historic town of Eatonville, Florida, to Mr. Alton Spencer and Mrs. Norma Bell Spencer. He was the third of four children, which included two boys, William, his twin Calvin, and one girl, Felicia.

A Time to Learn…Alvin received his early education at Robert Hungerford Grade School in Eatonville, Florida. He was very active in the first Eatonville Boy Scouts troop and little league baseball. He and his twin brother were one of the first African-American students to integrate Lockhart Junior High School in Orlando, Florida during the late 1960s. Alvin graduated from Wymore Tech High School in Eatonville, Florida in 1975, where he bled blue and orange as a proud Wymore Tech Bobcat!

A Time for family…Alvin met and married Roberta Stanton in 1979. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Cedric, Sheena and Stacy, to whom they loved and cherished dearly.  Although Alvin and Roberta did not remain married, they continued to be close friends who celebrated life

and love with their family throughout the years. One of Alvin’s biggest accomplishments that he was most proud of was his children. If you had a conversation with him, you were sure to hear about the latest accomplishments of his kids as well.

A Time to worship…Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting Alvin knew one undeniable fact about him, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and soul. He accepted Christ as a young man in his early 20’s and dedicated his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who he encountered. From Flower’s Temple Church of God in Christ, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church/The Life Center Church, to Faith World, Alvin was always an active member of the church he attended serving on prayer teams, choirs, as a deacon and small group bible study leader. He had an insatiable thirst for God’s word and would spend hours studying the bible along with the Greek and Hebrew language. He also loved listening to sermons of ministers from around the world. He was a wonderful example of a man after God’s heart for his family, friends, and community.

He leaves precious memories that will be treasured with:  Son: Cedric [Tasha] Tucker (Charlotte, NC); Daughters: Sheena Spencer (Sanford, FL), Stacy Spencer (Maitland, FL); Brother: Calvin Spencer (Atlantic City, NJ); Sister:  Felicia Steward (Jacksonville, FL), Grandchildren: Cedric Tucker II (Tallahassee, FL), T’Keyah Charly (U.S. Airforce, South Dakota), Christopher Tucker (Charlotte, NC), Caden Tucker (Charlotte, NC), and a host of other family members and friends.
