Our family has had Max since he was a puppy. He grew up with our children and became a part of our family. There is a very funny story about Max that my daughter always tells me. She reminds me of the first day when I brought Max home; she was only three and even as a puppy, Max was a very big dog. She was standing in a chair and no matter which side of the chair she walked to, Max would follow her. She began crying and said, “the dog is going to get me!” Max began to whimper and I said, “no sweetheart, he wants to protect you.” And from that day on…Max became her best friend, her protector, and her confidant. The two were inseparable until she went to college. That was our Max. We will always love you Max and will never forget you.
